Andreas Bakkerud arrived with a slender championship lead over the Hansen brothers, with Timmy and Kevin tied for second place. Qualifying was hard on Timmy, after getting rammed out of Q2 by Robin Larrson (leading to disqualification for the latter).
Rain has never been one to dampen a rallycross meeting, and it came down in buckets on the Sunday. Timmy enjoyed a perfect performance through the day to take the win, ahead of second placed Nicolas Gronholm, and third placed Bakkerud.
With the top three championship contenders only separated by 8 points, it’s all to play for in Cape Town at the FIA World Rallycross season finale on the 9th November.
