It was a late weekend in April, and I was lucky to be invited to join the Scuderia MKN Co1oni team at Silverstone, for the C1 24 Hour Challenge.

This new team, formed as a wild idea of a present for a “certain groom” at his wedding, were formed aiming at a late season start at the Snetterton 300, however found themselves ambitiously aiming at this 24 hour endurance race in only half the preparation time!

The team were made up of five drivers: Keir “The Groom” Lumsden, David “Best Man” Parsons, Julian Gilbert, Mike Roberts, and the ringer; Chris “Actually a professional driver and driver coach” Dymond.

Additionally, the team required the guys in the garage. Brought/bullied onto the team were Stu, Paul, Ash, Janos, Gary and Ruaidhri. The team managed to fight through the night and following day of madness to finish in 42nd position. This was hugely impressive, after qualifying 78th in a field of 99 cars!

Of course, the car was the star, On this occasion that was the shining scarlet beauty was known as non-other than Cit-Ron Burgundy. You stay classy, PSA. The car was named in a competition on the local radio station Beat Route Radio

It’s taken me a while to whittle these down to a meagre 115 photos, and they only tell half a story…
